Pricing & Payment options

We believe everyone deserves the right to healthy, delicious produce — regardless of their income level. Yet, typically only affluent folks can afford access to local, sustainably grown food.

To expand access, we offer sliding scale pricing and payment plans — all the details are below. In addition, through our Food Access Fund, we offer “Solidarity Shares” for low- or no-cost to members experiencing food insecurity. Together, we can create more equity, sustainability and diversity in our food system by paying based on our available resources.

How IT works

During the sign-up process, you’ll be able to select the payment level that best aligns with your income and access to resources: Lower, Middle, Upper, or Contributor.

For those that cannot afford the Lower Income level on our sliding scale, we also have a Solidarity Share Program you can apply for.

If you’re not sure where you fit, or this model is unfamiliar to you, we offer some guidelines to consider in our FAQ section.

  • The “Middle Income/Wealth” payment level reflects the market value, and we calculate what goes into each week’s share to hit that mark.

  • Lower Income/Wealth level is discounted ~20%, Upper Income/Wealth level is +20%, and Contributor Income/Wealth level is + 40%.

  • Solidarity shares are discounted at least 40%, or available at no cost — we have a short application form for these shares, and spots are confirmed as funding becomes available.

The cost for the Full Vegetable Share is $660 - $1155 for the 22-week season ($825 = Middle level). We also have a limited number of Small Shares available, for $480 - $840 ($600 = Middle level).

Payment OPTIONS

Payment in Full is requested whenever possible, which is typically how the CSA works.

However, for those who need it, we offer a 5-part payment plan:

  • 20% deposit due upon registration

  • 20% June 1st

  • 20% July 1st

  • 20% August 1st

  • 20% September 1st

**If you need something different, or can’t put down the initial payment yet, but still want to hold your spot – send us an email and we’ll work something out.

Regardless of whether you pay in full or on our payment plan, we accept all major credit cards. Check is also gladly accepted - in fact, it saves us about 3% in transaction fees. Just click “pay offline.” Make your check payable to Rock Steady Farm and mail to 41 Kaye Rd, Millerton NY 12546.

Have you heard about our Food Access Fund? In addition to our standard sliding scale, we also offer partially and fully subsidized “solidarity shares” because we know that our lowest-income community members can’t afford a share on the sliding scale. Solidarity shares are offered through our Food Access Fund. Discounted payment with SNAP/EBT is accepted through this program as well. The need is huge; and while our reach increases each season, our wait list grows as well. Learn more about contributing, or applying to receive a free/discounted share here.
